GOING DEEPER: A FREEHEEL HISTORY

It used to be for stability – dropping one knee provided better fore and aft stability than the parallel position, especially when wearing soft, leather lace-up boots. Farmer Review: Scarpa Ranger GTX

Reviewed by Ernie Hopkins  17 February 2018 These are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had.  No need to ‘wear them in’. During the early stages of my hunting addiction I realised looking after your feet is paramount, so I take boot selection seriously. There is nothing worse than your feet slowing you down unnecessarily.  Putting the boots to the test: As my previous pair of boots were well worn out and overdue to be replaced, I had no choice but to take my new pair of boots with me straight into the rocky terrain of the Kaimanawas. In the past with...
